Campus Time Zone Differences During Trimester 3, 2026

This is important for Brisbane students to be aware of in relation to enrolment and application closing dates.

Daylight Savings or Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) starts in Sydney and Melbourne on Sunday 4 October 2026. The time zone difference means that from Week 2 of Trimester 3, 2026 Sydney and Melbourne will be one hour ahead of Brisbane. â€‹The time zone in Brisbane does not change during the year, remaining in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) thoughout.

Important information for Brisbane Students:
  1. When Daylight Savings starts in Week 2, classes in your Student Portal will be scheduled in Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT).
  2. Brisbane students who enrol into an online class and their lecturer is located in Sydney or Melbourne need to attend the online class one hour earlier than the time in Brisbane from Week 2 onwards.
  3. When you enrol, please select your classes carefully to ensure your on campus classes don't clash with any online classes that may be available to you.

Daylight savings ends in April 2027.
