Orientation - Trimester 2, 2023

Trimester 2, 2025 Completing Students

Results for Trimester 1, 2025 will be released by 30 May 2025. Student Services will begin creating completion documents after this date. Completion documentation will be prioritised in order of visa expiry dates. Completion documentation cannot be issued to graduands who have outstanding fees, library items on loan or have not applied for or recorded their Unique Student Identifier in their Student Portal.

 

Completing students do not need to lodge requests for completion documents.

Completing students whose visa may expire before or on 30 May 2025 are asked to notify Student Services as soon as possible by lodging an enquiry.

​​This is important for Brisbane students to be aware of in relation to enrolment and application closing dates.  

 

The time zone in Sydney and Melbourne is currently Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT). Brisbane's time zone is Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). The time zone difference means that Sydney and Brisbane are one hour ahead of Brisbane.

Daylight Savings or Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) starts in Sydney and Melbourne on Sunday 5 October 2025. The time zone difference means that from Week 2 of Trimester 3, 2025 Sydney and Melbourne will be one hour ahead of Brisbane. â€‹The time zone in Brisbane does not change during the year, remaining in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) thoughout. 
 
Important information for Brisbane Students:
  1. When Daylight Savings starts in Week 2, classes in your Student Portal will be scheduled in Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT). 
  2. Brisbane students who enrol into an online class and their lecturer is located in Sydney or Melbourne need to attend the online class one hour earlier than the time in Brisbane from Week 2 onwards.  
  3. When online enrolment opens, please select your classes carefully to ensure your on campus classes don't clash with any online classes that may be available to you.

Tuition Fee Due Dates
Mid-Trimester 2, 2025

As students undertake one unit during an intensive study period, fees are due two instalments of 50% each. ​​​Student can choose to pay their full tuition fee in Week 1 or make payment in the two instalments of 50% at the beginning of Weeks 1 and 4.​

For new students who are commencing their first study period your prepaid tuition fee amount contributes towards the first instalment of 50%.

Login to your Student Portal using a computer, you need to allow a pop-up window to undertake the transaction. The pop-up doesn't appear when a mobile phone or tablet is used. 

  1. Go to the “Payment” Tab in the Student Portal

  2. Double Click on the "Pay Now" link to pay the invoice and allow the pop-up window

  3. Enter the amount you would like to pay

  4. Click on the Credit Card icon to continue

  5. Enter Your Credit Card Details

Orientation week starts with the Welcome and General Orientation Information webinar. You will be introduced to several members of the Student Services team who will support you throughout your studies, APIC’s Dean looks forward to welcoming you, essential information related to policy, procedure, and course progression (including your rights and responsibilities) will be presented, along with important safety and wellbeing information.

 

During this session we will answer any questions you may have including questions about access the various student systems and the learning platform. Session 3: Canvas, Library & Student Learning Support Webinar

Orientation continues Thursday with the Online Learning System, Library and Student Learning Support webinar. This webinar will introduce you to APIC's Student Learning Support, Library Services and Digital Learning Support teams and the support that they provide to help you succeed with your studies. You will have a chance to explore your online class space (Canvas), ask questions and evaluate your readiness to start your studies and identify any skills gaps so that you can seek the right support for you to achieve your best.  

 

The Student Learning Support team will guide you through what you need to do to succeed with your studies and introduce you to the wealth of available online academic skills resources and provide guidance on how to best use them.  

 

The Library team will cover what you need to know about using the library including how to find resources for your assessments and where to find guides so you can be efficient and effective in your research.

 

The Digital Learning Support team will show you how to navigate Canvas and find your units, view announcements from lecturers, access course materials, submit assessment tasks, locate zoom links for online classes, and find support for Canvas.

Your final webinar is an Academic Skills Workshop, this webinar is designed to help ready yourself for your study at APIC. The workshop will be delivered by APIC's Student Learning Support & Library teams and will help you develop your academic writing and referencing skills, understand your academic integrity responsibilities and how to maintain your academic integrity during your study at APIC and beyond. With this knowledge and skills, you will find it easier to get started on your assignments when the study period commences.

You may only attend classes that you have enrolled into.

Brisbane Students:

Classes commence from Monday 10 June 2024 as per your units of enrolment. 

 

      

Sydney and Melbourne Students:

As Monday 10 June 2024 is a Public Holiday and Sydney and Melbourne Campuses will be closed, classes will commence from Tuesday 11 June 2024.
